Vehicle Control Systems is currently negotiating with people regarding PDI Empowerment in an empowerment way. We believe that there is no empowerment in taking an already empowered wealthy person and sell or give him shares just to say that we got black empowerment. We are going the way of real empowerment by taking in a person that may have been disadvantaged, that we think has the initiative and ability to become someone whereby the Company can benefit from Mr. William Mashangane's, who has a 30% shareholding in the company, expertise. We are still interviewing PDI women, who will have a 20% shareholding in the company and she will be responsible for the local market. The factory laborers will have a 10% shareholding in the company. This process should be complete by the end of 2008.

Vehicle Control Systems started its operation in 1991 as sub-contractor doing electrical and mechanical installations on emergency vehicles like ambulances and police vehicles, we at that stage, bought out all items to be installed. In 1997 we started to manufacture our own light control systems. We have done approximately 5000 installations (electrical & mechanical) with a defect rate less than 0.5% and most of these where caused by people tampering with the control units.

We are proud to say that our products run all over our own country as well as in Botswana, Mozambique, Angola, Zambia and other African countries.
